TEAS 7 Math: practice questions and study guide
The TEAS 7 Math section has 38 questions in 57 minutes, and an on-screen calculator is provided. It covers Numbers & Algebra (fractions, decimals, percents, ratios, equations and word problems) and Measurement & Data (unit conversions, geometry, and reading and interpreting data).
What's tested

- Memorize the common conversions: 1 kg = 2.2 lb, 1 in = 2.54 cm, 1 fl oz ≈ 30 mL, 1 tsp = 5 mL.
- Set up proportions for dosage and scaling problems, then cross-multiply.
- For percent change, always divide by the original value — not the new one.
- Estimate before calculating so you can catch calculator slips.
- With about 90 seconds per question, use the calculator for arithmetic but do the setup on scratch paper.

Answer: B. Convert each to a decimal: −12 = −0.5; −0.6 = −0.6; 0.05 = 0.05; −5% = −0.05. Then order from smallest to largest: −0.6, −12, −5%, 0.05. Remember that with negatives, the number farther from zero is smaller.

Answer: C. Order the data: 98.2, 98.6, 99.1, 100.4. The average of the two middle values is 98.85.
Show answer and explanation
Answer: C. Undo the constant first: 3x = 31 − 7 = 24. Then divide by 3: x = 8.
Show answer and explanation
Answer: D. Mean = sum ÷ count = 40 ÷ 5 = 8.
Show answer and explanation
Answer: B. Undo the constant first: 5x = 21 + 4 = 25. Then divide by 5: x = 5.
Show answer and explanation
Answer: D. Order the data: 4, 4, 7, 10, 15. The middle value is 7.
